Monday, November 12th from 6-8 pm Sunset Theater $10, ticket at the door Doors open at 6pm for a meet and greet reception with artist. North Carolina native Kristen Leigh's original 'indie chamber folk' blurs the lines between genres and styles, drawing from a diverse range of influences including classical, bluegrass, folk, indie, and alternative rock to produce folk-based compositions with orchestral arrangements that are both accessible and moving. The raw passion with which she sings is assuaged by a down-to-earth and interactive stage presence that seeks to build relationships with her audiences. Kristen?s emotionally authentic lyrics explore themes of hope, longing, redemption, and the struggle to find inner strength. By weaving together personal stories and reflections with larger life questions, she crafts unique and memorable songs that call listeners to the depths of human experience. Originally from Greensboro NC, Kristen has lived and performed in San Francisco, Charleston SC, New York City, and Indonesia. She graduated from Columbia University's Union Seminary in 2014 with a Master's degree in 'Theology and the Arts,' where she was inspired to write a number of Biblically-inspired songs provoking questions about the traditional interpretation of stories by exploring them from a decidedly female perspective. Kristen is currently living in Asheboro NC and working on writing and recording her next album. https://www.facebook.com/kristenleighmusic/ www.kristenleighmusic.com
